We ended up back at Hakata Tonton down on Grove Street in the West Village with friends last night, and, as always, they fell in love with the place! Here’s why…
Kanpachi tartare…

Seared foie gras…

Tonton house special pork gyoza…

Grilled pork cheeks…

Spicy fried chicken…

Salmon carpacchio with salmon roe in ponzu…

Pork trotter dumplings in soup…

The best okonomiyaki in New York City…

An extra shot of the okonomiyaki for you just because I rave about it so much…

With a “motsu nabe”, or pork hot pot, to close it all out. Put it all over flame…

Let it boil down…

Stir it up and it’s ready to eat…

Then later, when all the fat and collagen has boiled off into a perfect porky broth… you add noodles!
