In Sweden, we make these things called smörgåstårta, or sandwich cakes, and my cousins made sure I got some last week. Basically, it’s just what it sounds like… a cake make with sandwich ingredients. You layer flatbread with cold cuts and/or shrimp or crayfish salad to make a “cake”, use mayo instead of cream to cover it, then finish by topping it with lettuce, onions, tomatoes and more cold cuts on top to indicate what kind of smörgåstårta it is inside. We had one with shrimp and salmon…
