Dooky Chase, New Orleans

Our second day in New Orleans started with the best meal of the trip so far, at legendary local restaurant Dooky Chase! We’ve wanted to come here for forever and it was worth the years of waiting. The lunch buffet had all the classics and every bite lived up to, and surpassed, our expectations!

We started with corn & crab soup…

Now THAT’S how you make crab soup!

Next up was their world famous gumbo, which was outstanding!

Then on to the spread…

Simply wonderful fried chicken…

Chicken, red beans & rice, hot sausage, and macaroni casserole…

All the genuine creole cooking you can eat for $18!

And fresh peach cobbler for dessert…

A better look at the beautiful stained glass…

They say you can’t come to New Orleans and not eat at Dooky Chase.

Well, whoever they are, they’re right!
